The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has unveiled a comprehensive system featuring 13 types of work permits, marking a major shift in how the labor market is structured and regulated, while offering companies the flexibility to select permits based on job roles and operational needs.

Among the key permits are private tutoring permits, permits for recruiting workers from abroad valid for two years under defined conditions, and transfer permits that allow companies to hire workers already inside the country after the end of their previous employment contracts, enhancing workforce continuity.

The system also includes permits for individuals sponsored by their families, enabling both males and females residing in the UAE to work for two years, along with temporary work permits that allow employees to carry out specific assignments for another employer before returning to their original job.

Additional permits cover task-based employment for short-term projects and part-time work permits that enable individuals to work for multiple employers simultaneously without requiring approval from their primary employer, within a regulated framework that supports modern work models.

The initiative further extends to juvenile work permits for individuals aged 15 to 18 under regulated conditions, student training and employment permits, and specialized permits for UAE nationals, GCC citizens, golden visa holders, trainee nationals, and freelancers, reflecting the country’s forward-looking vision for a dynamic and innovation-driven labor market.
