Ajman has officially announced a reduction in government working hours to 7 hours per day from June 29 until August 28, following a directive issued by the Ajman Government Human Resources Department to all public sector entities across the emirate.
This move is part of the “Balanced Summer” initiative, which aims to enhance workplace conditions and support employee wellbeing while aligning with the broader objectives of the Year of Family, reflecting a strategic focus on work-life balance.
According to the circular, official working hours from Monday to Thursday will run from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while Friday working hours will be from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, ensuring schedules are optimized for the summer season.
The directive also allows government entities to implement flexible working systems, provided that employees complete no less than the officially mandated working hours, offering operational flexibility without compromising productivity.
Additionally, entities operating on shift-based systems have been authorized to define their own start and end times based on operational needs, while maintaining uninterrupted service delivery and ensuring efficiency across all government services.
