Kuwait Airways has announced the resumption of its operations from Kuwait International Airport to 17 destinations starting next Sunday, marking a significant step toward restoring normal air traffic following disruptions caused by regional tensions since late February.
The announcement follows the decision by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to reopen the country’s airspace, with officials confirming that the move was coordinated with relevant international authorities to ensure operations resume under the highest safety and security standards.
Authorities stated that the reopening is part of a carefully structured phased plan aimed at gradually restoring full flight operations at Kuwait International Airport, while continuously monitoring the situation to maintain operational stability and passenger safety.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdulwahab Al-Shatti confirmed that destinations include Cairo, Riyadh, Jeddah, Beirut, and Damascus, in addition to international cities such as London, Istanbul, Lahore, Dhaka, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Manila, Colombo, and Guangzhou.
Flight frequencies will vary by destination, with daily service to Cairo, three weekly flights to London, Riyadh, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, and Manila, four weekly flights to Jeddah and Dhaka, and two weekly flights to Beirut, Damascus, and Lahore, while Istanbul, Guangzhou, and Colombo will each have one weekly flight, reflecting a gradual and structured return to full operations.
