Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs has taken urgent action against several cooperative society boards in the Capital and Ahmadi governorates after irregularities were identified in monthly social insurance payments for Kuwaiti employees.

The ministry suspended the signing authorities of certain boards, requiring the affected societies to address their outstanding obligations and correct their administrative and financial status.

The measures were initiated following concerns that continued non-compliance with social insurance requirements could affect employees’ pension rights and financial security.

The relevant administration also contacted the Federation of Kuwaiti Banks, which will coordinate with local banks regarding temporary restrictions on banking authorizations linked to the chairpersons and treasurers of the affected societies.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs emphasized that it will continue taking legal and administrative action against non-compliant cooperative boards, with the goal of protecting the cooperative sector and safeguarding the rights and employment stability of Kuwaiti workers.
