In an unexpected move, Erling Haaland, the star forward for Manchester City, captivated fans by debuting a striking new hairstyle just before the start of the Premier League season.

Haaland took to the social media platform "X" on Sunday morning to share a video that caught fans off guard. Initially, the video showed him seated in his home with his signature long blond hair cascading over his shoulders. As he moved closer to the camera, he playfully covered the lens with his hand.

When the view was restored, Haaland appeared in the same location and outfit, but with a drastically shorter haircut.

The Norwegian striker captioned the video, "New season, new haircut," adding an element of surprise and excitement for his followers. Approximately 20 minutes later, he posted a series of selfies that seemed to document the haircutting process. In each image, his hair appeared progressively shorter, accompanied by the caption, "Short hair don't care."

At 26 years old, Haaland had become known for his long blond locks over recent years. However, as the new season approaches, he has opted to shed this well-known look.

Manchester City is gearing up for their opening match of the 2026-2027 Premier League season against Bournemouth at Etihad Stadium. This will mark their first campaign following the departure of Spanish manager Pep Guardiola.
