Coinciding with the festive atmosphere of Eid Al Adha, Dubai Police has issued a strong warning against the use and trade of fireworks, stressing that such activities pose a direct risk to individuals and the wider community during the holiday period.

Authorities emphasized the importance of strict compliance with laws and regulations, urging residents to avoid purchasing or using fireworks due to the severe dangers associated with them and the potential for life changing injuries.

Dubai Police clarified that while fireworks may appear to be harmless entertainment, they can quickly turn into a major hazard capable of causing serious damage to both people and property within seconds.

The warning highlighted that injuries caused by fireworks can be extremely severe, including burns, amputations, and permanent physical disabilities, making them one of the most dangerous forms of misuse during celebrations.

Officials also confirmed that Federal Law No 17 of 2019 imposes strict penalties on anyone involved in the illegal trade, import, manufacturing, or distribution of fireworks without proper licensing, with punishments including at least one year imprisonment and fines starting from AED 100000, reinforcing the commitment to public safety.
