Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs has announced an urgent decision to suspend the entry of non-Bahraini travelers arriving from South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda on all flights starting Tuesday, as a precautionary response to the latest Ebola outbreak developments reported by the World Health Organization, amid growing concerns over the worsening epidemiological situation in those countries.

The authority clarified that the suspension also applies to travelers who have been present in any of the three countries within the past 30 days, even if they are not arriving directly from them, as entry procedures at Bahrain International Airport have been updated to ensure maximum health protection and prevent potential virus transmission within the Kingdom.

Officials confirmed that Bahraini citizens returning from these countries will not be subject to the entry ban, but they will undergo approved health protocols immediately upon arrival, including screenings and preventive measures designed to safeguard both individual and public health in line with international standards for epidemic response.

Civil Aviation Affairs stressed the importance of full compliance with all official instructions issued to travelers entering Bahrain, particularly through Bahrain International Airport, emphasizing that these measures are part of an integrated national system aimed at protecting public health and strengthening preparedness against global health threats.

The authority further noted that the suspension decision will remain in effect for 30 days from the date of implementation and will be continuously reviewed based on global health developments, with the possibility of updating the list of affected countries according to specific criteria related to the spread of Ebola, reflecting a flexible policy capable of adapting rapidly to evolving international health conditions.
