The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia has enabled pilgrims to register through the Absher platform and obtain a digital visitor ID, marking a major step toward simplifying mobility and enhancing the overall Hajj experience.

The authority confirmed that the digital visitor ID serves as an officially recognized document, allowing pilgrims to move safely and efficiently without the need to carry a physical passport.

This initiative significantly improves security measures while reducing risks associated with document loss, while also accelerating daily procedures for pilgrims across the Kingdom.

As part of preparations for Hajj 1447, the Passports Directorate announced its full readiness to receive pilgrims through all international entry points, supported by advanced digital systems and streamlined operational processes.

A key highlight is the mobile counter system, which facilitates fast-track processing for elderly pilgrims and individuals with disabilities by capturing biometric data, facial images, and passport details quickly and efficiently without waiting.
