The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in Kuwait has begun implementing its scheduled maintenance program for the country’s electricity networks as of October 1, 2026.

The program is part of the ministry’s annual plan to improve the efficiency of the electrical system, strengthen its readiness and reduce unexpected technical failures.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, engineer Fatma Abbas Johar Hayat, explained that the maintenance covers various components of the electricity transmission and distribution networks. The work extends from major substations through overhead transmission lines and underground cables to secondary substations.

The ministry warned that some maintenance activities may require temporary power interruptions in parts of certain areas. Detailed schedules will be announced through the ministry’s official social media accounts, allowing residents and customers to follow the locations and expected timing of the maintenance work.

The ministry will also send notifications to affected customers through Kuwait’s “Sahel” government application, using the information registered with the Public Authority for Civil Information. The notification system is intended to help customers stay informed about maintenance activities that may affect electricity service in their areas.

In addition, the ministry will provide a direct link through its official social media accounts for customers to follow maintenance updates and the different stages of the work, including its start and completion. The ministry stressed that the program is part of its continued efforts to improve service quality, increase network efficiency and strengthen electricity reliability across Kuwait.
