The RTA of Dubai is set to host its 79th online auction for unique number plates beginning May 19, 2025.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is gearing up for its 79th online auction, featuring 350 unique number plates. These plates will include a variety of three, four, and five-digit combinations, making them ideal for private vehicles, classic cars, and motorcycles.

The auction will showcase plates with codes ranging from H to Z, which will be categorized as follows:

  • J
  • K
  • L
  • M
  • N
  • O
  • P
  • Q
  • R
  • S
  • T
  • U
  • V
  • W
  • X
  • Y
  • Z

Registration for this exciting auction will commence on Monday, May 19, 2025, and will remain open for five days.

Dubai Number Plate Auction

The live auction will officially start on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Participants should be aware that all sales will incur a 5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT), and it is mandatory for all bidders to have a valid traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai.

To take part in the auction, bidders must provide a security cheque for AED 5,000, made out to the RTA, in addition to a non-refundable participation fee of AED 120.

Payments for the participation can be made at Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, or through credit card transactions via the RTA website.

Furthermore, successful bidders are required to complete their payment within 10 working days following the auction's closing. Payments can be processed at authorized service provider centres; cash transactions are limited to amounts up to AED 50,000, while certified cheques or credit cards are required for higher amounts.

Transactions can also be conducted at Customer Happiness Centres or through the RTA’s website.
