Under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is advancing a major project to upgrade infrastructure in Dubai's residential areas in line with the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

This project fits within a larger plan meant to improve resident quality of life, allow for urban growth, and raise general population well-being and happiness. To increase access and reduce traffic congestion, one of the main projects under progress is the building of an extra entry and exit for the Al Warqaa region, directly linking it to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

The project entails building an internal road system eight kilometers long to accommodate the growing local traffic. Once finished, the new roads and access points should greatly cut travel time and enable an extra 5,000 vehicles per hour, hence increasing capacity. The typical trip in the area takes roughly twenty minutes right now, but with the new infrastructure, this will cut to just 3.5 minutes. Traveling distances inside the area will also drop from 5.7 kilometers to 1.5 kilometers. Computed to be finished in a year, this project will benefit an estimated 350,000 Al Warqaa residents and others living nearby.

Emphasizing the significance of the project as part of the RTA's continuous commitment to improve the road network and other vital infrastructure in Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the RTA Board of Executive Directors, said The developments seek to satisfy the rising traffic needs while guaranteeing road safety, good traffic management, and quick transportation systems. Al Warqaa 1 Street is under development as well as a new entrance and exit off Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Roundabouts along the roadway will be turned into signal-operated junctions, therefore enhancing the street's capacity by thirty percent and helping to ease traffic congestion.

Apart from these developments, the RTA is engaged in other Al Warqaa region initiatives. Al Warqaa 3 and 4 are now under internal road construction, and a 16-kilometer cycling route will be created to improve connection with surrounding neighborhoods. In past stages, the RTA finished infrastructure improvements to support the residential project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, which comprises of 136 villas, and road repairs surrounding the Scientific Research School in Al Warqaa 4. Among these projects were building resident pedestrian routes, sidewalks, and parking lot access as well as street lights.

The dedication of the RTA to improve road infrastructure and transit goes beyond Al Warqaa. In the Al Qusais Industrial Area 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 authority finished road and lighting projects earlier this year. This project included building lighting systems over 43 kilometers and 32 ten-kilometer roadways. The developments have improved road capacity in the area by 200%, therefore expanding vehicle capacity from 500 to 1,500 cars per hour in both directions. Between the industrial regions and four main streets—Amman Street, Beirut Street, Aleppo Street, and Damascus Street—these improvements have improved communication as well. The initiative also enhanced access to 25 residential structures, businesses, over 320 seminars, and educational institutions. Al Qusais Industrial Area's population density is approximated to be 60,000 persons.

Designed to fit Dubai's fast urban development, the RTA's infrastructure projects in Al Warqaa and Al Qusais are meant to be The RTA seeks to provide a more sustainable and accessible urban environment for all people by enhancing road networks, including alternative mobility choices like cycling, and raising the efficiency of public transport systems. These initiatives complement Dubai's long-term objectives of improving mobility, easing traffic congestion, and so facilitating the general emirate development.
