GEMS Education welcomes over 1,700 global educators at its annual event in Dubai. Chairman Sunny Varkey declared this period as a pivotal point for education heading towards 2025.
In a major educational development, GEMS Education has inducted over 1,700 new teachers from around the world during its annual GEMS Awareness Day at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. This event marks what Chairman and Founder Sunny Varkey calls "not just a new chapter, but a turning point" for the future of education.
Reflecting on more than sixty years of progress, Mr. Varkey emphasized the unique opportunities and significant responsibilities awaiting educators as they approach 2025. He asserted: “We are not just growing or improving; we are re-imagining education for a new generation."
Innovative Vision for Education
The event spotlighted how technology and artificial intelligence will shape classrooms of the future, yet Mr. Varkey reiterated that teachers remain indispensable: “No machine can imbue our children with values or mindset to thrive and be decent individuals. No code can replace warmth or encouragement; no artificial intelligence can believe in you like a teacher does. This is the essence of human connection.”
Highlighting GEMS’ ongoing commitment to holistic education, he pointed to various initiatives-BEYOND100, Determined Genius, Family First Café, and Parent 360-that aim to cultivate character and lifelong success habits.
“Our mission is beyond just work; it’s about fulfilling a simple promise-to always prioritize children without reservations," he expressed passionately.
This dedication has translated into impressive academic achievements annually for GEMS students who gain placements at prestigious institutions worldwide including Ivy League schools in the U.S., Oxbridge in the UK, Russell Group universities among others. For 2025:
- 250 students have secured spots at Global Top 50 universities
- 353 accepted into Russell Group institutions
- Seven entered Ivy League schools
Dino Varkey, Group CEO of GEMS Education echoed these sentiments by emphasizing their commitment to recruiting top talent: “Each year we strive to bring aboard only those educators who share our vision for excellence and innovation.”
The annual GEMS Awareness Day stands as a testament to this culture-attracting high-caliber educators while fostering belongingness across their network.
Akhbrna News observes that apart from strong teacher retention rates achieved through substantial investment in professional growth opportunities-new leadership roles arise both internally within their vast network along with carefully chosen external recruits solidifying its position as an educational leader globally.
