The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has closed 12 restaurants and food establishments since the start of 2025 due to violations of Law No. (2) of 2008 regarding food safety in the emirate, which posed a risk to public health. This action reflects the authority's ongoing commitment to enhancing food safety measures in the region.

As the new year commenced, the authority intensified its monitoring activities, leading to numerous inspections by food safety inspectors across the emirate. These efforts resulted in the administrative closure of 12 establishments, including a restaurant on Hamdan Street, a supermarket in Al Khalidiyah (West 6), and another establishment on Hamdan Street (East 3). Additionally, closures occurred at a supermarket in the Mussafah Industrial area, a poultry farm in Al Ajoban, a commercial establishment in Al Shahama, a grocery store in Mussafah 9, and various restaurants in Muhammad Bin Zayed City and New Al Shahama.

The authority emphasized the continuation of its annual awareness and inspection campaigns targeting food establishments. The primary objective of these inspections is to ensure compliance with food safety standards, alongside educating consumers on best practices to guarantee the safety of the food being offered.

Through its social media platforms, the authority reassured the public about their commitment to food safety, highlighting that all available food products undergo regular and thorough testing as part of ongoing inspection campaigns at restaurants, central kitchens, cafes, and other food venues.
