Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan where key national priorities were reviewed in a comprehensive policy session reflecting the country’s strategic direction toward legislative modernization economic resilience and sustainable development aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024 2030 reinforcing a balanced governance approach that integrates growth with long term stability.

At the beginning of the session the Cabinet praised the outcomes of high level talks between the Amir of Qatar and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his official visit to Doha emphasizing that the discussions demonstrated the depth of bilateral relations and strategic partnership while reaffirming joint commitments to regional and global security as well as safeguarding supply chains and ensuring uninterrupted global energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz strengthening Qatar’s position as a reliable global energy partner.

The Cabinet reviewed amendments to the Labor Law originally issued under Law No 14 of 2004 following its approval by the Shura Council with the proposed reforms prepared by the Ministry of Labor aiming to modernize labor market regulations enhance employer employee relations and streamline recruitment processes while placing particular focus on accelerating dispute resolution mechanisms to ensure faster settlements and reinforce labor market stability amid evolving economic dynamics.

In addition the Cabinet approved a unified GCC volunteering law and referred it to the Shura Council marking a significant step toward institutionalizing volunteer work across the region as the initiative seeks to promote a culture of civic engagement establish clear regulatory frameworks protect the rights of volunteers and host entities and define responsibilities to ensure impactful and sustainable community contributions aligned with social cohesion goals under Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Cabinet also endorsed amendments to municipal architectural regulations designed to elevate residential living standards through a balanced approach that optimizes land use efficiency while preserving comfort privacy and environmental sustainability based on integrated urban planning studies addressing modern family needs and evolving lifestyle patterns and the meeting concluded with a review of major national and regional reports including human trafficking prevention housing development forums and environmental cooperation outcomes followed by the adoption of relevant decisions.
