Philippine Airlines has announced the cancellation of two scheduled flights between Manila and Riyadh, marking a new operational development affecting passengers travelling during the current period as the airline continues to assess operational and security conditions in the region.
According to the airline’s latest update, flight PR654 from Manila to Riyadh, scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, has been cancelled. The return service, flight PR655 from Riyadh to Manila, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, has also been cancelled, directly affecting passengers booked on the two services.
The airline said it is continuing to evaluate airport conditions and operational developments across the region, including any factors that could affect upcoming services. Passengers are therefore being advised to monitor their flight status regularly rather than relying only on the original schedule shown at the time of booking.
Philippine Airlines also confirmed that affected passengers will be contacted regarding available travel options, which may include rebooking on later services or other alternatives in line with the airline’s policies and individual ticket conditions. Travellers are encouraged to ensure that their contact details remain updated in their booking records so they can receive any new notifications.
The latest announcement does not represent a complete suspension of Philippine Airlines services between the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. At this stage, the official cancellation specifically applies to flights PR654 and PR655, and the airline has not announced an open-ended suspension of all Riyadh services.
The decision directly affects passengers using King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, particularly those arriving from Manila or departing for the Philippines on the affected dates. Travellers with onward connections, hotel reservations or other time-sensitive plans may also need to make additional arrangements.
The airline has advised passengers to check the latest status of their flights through official channels before travelling to the airport, especially as further operational adjustments could be introduced depending on developments. Passengers with urgent travel plans are also encouraged to contact the airline directly for assistance.
This latest change comes as several international airlines continue to adjust selected Middle East services, making it increasingly important for travellers to verify their flight status shortly before departure, even when no cancellation notice has initially been received.
