Dubai Airports’ Chief Operating Officer, Majed Al Joker, confirmed that Dubai International Airport maintained strong passenger traffic despite regional disruptions, recording 2.7 million arriving passengers over the past two months amid airspace constraints and flight schedule limitations.

He emphasized that these figures highlight significant growth when measured against the operational challenges faced by the aviation sector during this period, reflecting the airport’s ability to sustain high performance under pressure.

Al Joker stated that Dubai Airports handled more than 6 million passengers between March 2 and April 30, underscoring the flexibility and robustness of its operational framework in managing increased travel demand.

He added that first-quarter traffic reached approximately 18.6 million passengers, alongside 88,000 flight movements, reinforcing Dubai International Airport’s position as one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

Currently, 51 airlines operate through Dubai International Airport, serving 192 global destinations, with strong traffic observed from South Asia, Western Europe, the GCC, and East Asia, while gradual recovery is expected following the easing of airspace restrictions, supported by rising global travel demand and the growing role of transit passengers.
