TikTok has officially rolled out a new wellness feature designed to promote better sleep habits by offering guided meditation and relaxation sessions to users across the platform.
Initially tested earlier this year with a select group of teenagers, the feature is now available to all users, with a particular focus on minors under 18.
The main goal of this update is to encourage users to disconnect from the app late at night and instead transition into a state of calm and restfulness. For users under the age of 18, the feature is enabled by default.
If a teen user accesses TikTok after 10 PM, the app will pause the feed of new videos and instead present a meditation session, featuring soft visuals, relaxing music, and guided breathing exercises designed to promote relaxation.
Should the teen ignore the prompt and continue using the app, TikTok will trigger a full-screen alert, reminding the user to get some rest and encouraging them to go to sleep.
This initiative reflects TikTok’s growing commitment to digital well-being, especially among its younger audience, at a time when concerns around screen time and mental health are gaining increasing attention globally.
