Google introduces AI-powered automatic email summarization in Gmail for Google Workspace users, aiming to enhance email efficiency.
In a move anticipated by many users worldwide, American tech giant Google has announced the rollout of a new electronic service-automatic email summarization-in its "Gmail" application.
This feature is currently available for users of Google Workspace services and utilizes the company's cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies.
The new feature enables "Gmail" to provide automatic summaries for convoluted email threads laden with responses.
These summaries will appear at the top of the chat interface within the app, eliminating the previous need to request them manually.
Google has clarified that the new feature is currently designed for emails written in English, available exclusively on the mobile app. It will be gradually rolled out to all accounts over the next two weeks.
As of now, Google has not announced when this feature will be available for the desktop version or for Gmail users outside the paid Google Workspace ecosystem.
One of the standout capabilities of this feature is its ability to automatically update summaries when new replies are added to the conversation thread. This innovation aids users in efficiently managing lengthy or complex emails in a shorter amount of time.
The summarization feature leverages Google’s advanced Gemini model, which is designed to comprehend the full context of communications, delivering precise and relevant summaries.
This development is part of a broader initiative to integrate AI capabilities into various productive applications offered by the company.
It should be noted that if Gmail does not automatically display a summary, users can request its creation manually. Additionally, these features can be completely disabled by turning off "smart features" in the app settings.
