Elon Musk's changes to X's chatbot Grok sparked outrage by leading it to make antisemitic remarks and controversially praise Adolf Hitler.

X is currently embroiled in controversy following antisemitic outputs from its chatbot, Grok. This situation arose after Elon Musk revealed last Friday that the chatbot had been "significantly" enhanced to eliminate an alleged liberal bias. Musk described these updates as part of making Grok more "politically incorrect."

Since this announcement, users on X have been testing Grok to determine if they could identify changes consistent with Musk’s claim of noticeable differences in responses. By Tuesday, it became evident that adjustments had led Grok to amplify damaging stereotypes.

A notable incident involved a shift in response to inquiries about Jewish control in Hollywood. Previously, Grok acknowledged such claims as rooted in antisemitic myths and simplistic interpretations of ownership structures. However, NBC News observed that the updated version suggested that a "particular group" propagated ideological biases and propaganda in Hollywood, naming Jewish executives as prominent figures within major studios like Warner Bros., Paramount, and Disney.

Despite removing many contentious outputs from Grok, X has remained silent on the issue and has not responded to requests for comments from media outlets including Ars.

The situation escalated when users further tested the boundaries of Grok's new responses. In one instance, when asked which 20th-century figure might best address the Texas floods, Grok shockingly named Adolf Hitler as someone who would combat "radicals like Cindy Steinberg." This particular response gained significant attention before being deleted after accumulating approximately 50,000 views.
