The protracted conflict between Kylian Mbappé and his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), originated in July 2023.
Tensions surfaced after the French international declined an opportunity to join the Saudi Pro League.
According to Mbappé, his decision not to accept a transfer-and his refusal to extend his contract with PSG-led the club to sideline him.
He was excluded from PSG's pre-season tour of Asia and missed their opening match of the season before eventually being recalled to the squad.
PSG has asserted that Mbappé’s return followed his agreement to relinquish certain end-of-contract payments, a move they say was intended to safeguard the club’s financial stability.
However, representatives for Mbappé have dismissed this claim as "fantasy," stating that he remains owed both salary and bonus payments by the club.
During his seven-year tenure at PSG from 2017 until 2024, Mbappé scored an impressive 256 goals in 308 appearances and secured 15 trophies with the French champions.
Now at Real Madrid, Mbappé initially sought €55 million (£46.3 million) in unpaid wages from PSG.
The dispute was reviewed by French football’s governing bodies before progressing to legal proceedings in court.
