The city of Sharjah has unveiled a strategic policy aimed at encouraging the prompt settlement of traffic fines by offering significant discounts. Motorists can now take advantage of a reduction of up to 35% on their traffic fines, thanks to a new resolution ratified by the Sharjah Executive Council.
This decision emerged from the council's recent assembly, led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who serves as both Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council. Also present was Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, in his capacity as Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman.
The initiative provides a 35% discount covering various costs related to traffic fines. These include the primary financial penalty, fees for impoundment periods, vehicle storage charges, and any penalties for late payment-provided that these fines are settled within 60 days following the violation.

For those unable to meet this two-month deadline, there remains an opportunity to secure a 25% discount solely on the financial penalty itself if paid within one year from the date of the infraction.
Akhbrna News notes that despite this attractive offer, serious traffic violations will not be eligible for any form of discount under this new scheme.
