UAE Universities Launch Scholarships and Discounts to Attract High School Graduates Amid Record Admissions in 2025

Higher education institutions across the UAE have ramped up efforts to attract high school graduates for the upcoming academic year, offering generous scholarships, tuition discounts, and simplified early admission processes. These measures follow the recent changes in the university admission system, with experts predicting that 2025 could mark the largest student intake in the history of higher education in the country.
Universities have doubled their marketing campaigns on social media, hosted open days both on-campus and online, and actively participated in educational fairs across the emirates. These efforts aim to inform students and their families about various academic programs and highlight the benefits of enrolling early—such as waived application fees and tailored support for students who do not initially meet English language or subject-specific requirements.
Academic advisors and admissions officials, including Mohammed Al Arusi, Mazen Samaha, and Amani Al Harfi, emphasized the importance of open days in helping students connect with faculty members and explore campus life, thereby enabling more informed decisions about their academic future.
Following the Ministry of Higher Education’s decision to cancel the “EmSAT” test, Grade 12 students who were previously unable to enroll due to test failures can now apply under the new admission criteria. This change is expected to double the number of new university students in 2025, supported by the availability of over 2,000 internationally accredited programs.
