Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Al-Budai, has issued a decisive ministerial resolution banning the sale and circulation of unmanned aerial vehicles across all retail outlets and commercial markets in the country until further notice, reflecting tighter regulatory oversight amid ongoing regional developments.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed in an official statement reported by Kuwait News Agency that the decision is part of broader regulatory and security measures aimed at controlling the use of drone technology, noting that the ban applies to all forms of sale and distribution within commercial markets without exception.
The ministry stressed that the resolution includes the immediate closure of any business found violating its provisions, with offenders being referred to the competent authorities for legal action, highlighting strict enforcement and zero tolerance for non-compliance.
The decision also mandates the cancellation of any previous rulings that contradict its provisions, with immediate enforcement from the date of issuance and publication in the official gazette to ensure full compliance across all sectors.
This measure follows earlier actions taken by Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior on March 3, when it announced a complete ban on aerial photography and drone operations until further notice due to prevailing security conditions affecting the country and the wider region.
