Qatar’s Meteorology Department has issued an advisory highlighting unstable weather conditions expected across the country today, with forecasts indicating scattered rainfall that may develop into thunderstorms at times, accompanied by active winds that could reduce horizontal visibility, especially in coastal areas, with conditions continuing until 6:00 PM.

The forecast indicates that weather conditions both onshore and offshore will range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with intermittent chances of rain that could intensify during certain periods, requiring caution for those traveling or engaging in outdoor and marine activities throughout the day.

Winds are expected to shift between northeasterly and southeasterly directions, with speeds ranging from 5 to 15 knots, while gusts may reach up to 30 knots during thunderstorm activity, potentially impacting maritime movement and small vessels.

Sea conditions are forecast to gradually become rough, with wave heights along the coast ranging from 1 to 3 feet, increasing to 5 feet during thunderstorms, while offshore waves may range from 2 to 4 feet and rise to as much as 10 feet under storm conditions, signaling potentially hazardous conditions at sea.

Visibility is expected to range between 4 and 9 kilometers, but may drop to 2 kilometers or less along the coast and 3 kilometers or less offshore during thunderstorms, while Doha is expected to record a high of 27°C, with tidal timings varying across different areas and sunset expected at 5:54 PM.
