Emirates will start a third daily flight between Dubai and Mauritius from December 2025, using a Boeing 777 to connect travelers from various global destinations. This expansion complements existing A380 services and supports tourism by offering more flight options and enhancing partnerships, including with Air Mauritius.

In a strategic bid to enhance tourism and connectivity, Emirates has announced the introduction of a third daily flight connecting Dubai to Mauritius, slated to commence on December 1, 2025. This addition promises to augment the airline's already robust network, supporting the island nation’s tourism industry.

The new service, designated as EK709/710, will be operated by a Boeing 777 and aims to supplement the existing dual daily flights served by Emirates’ A380 aircraft, specifically flights EK701/702 and EK703/704. This expansion is set to offer travelers more flexibility and a broader choice of timings, particularly benefiting those journeying from across the globe, including the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Strategic Expansion with Air Mauritius Partnership

Under its longstanding partnership with Air Mauritius, Emirates will introduce the Boeing 777 service, presenting enhanced connectivity and convenience for passengers. The airline also plans to promote this route to the burgeoning markets in the Far East, such as Japan, China, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, potentially increasing demand and tourism flow from these regions.

Scheduled to depart Dubai at 06:55hrs, flight EK709 will arrive in Mauritius at 13:40hrs, while the return flight EK710 will leave Mauritius at 18:30hrs, touching down in Dubai at 01:10hrs the following day. These new timings aim to provide seamless travel options for both leisure and business travelers alike.

Booking options are now accessible via various platforms including the Emirates website, mobile app, and retail outlets, as well as through authorized travel agents.

Acknowledging the collaboration with Mauritian authorities, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed gratitude, "We are thrilled to expand our service offering, which we believe will drive significant growth in Mauritius’ crucial tourism sector. Our additional daily service, utilizing the Boeing 777, offers a 30% capacity increase, presenting more travel opportunities on this vital route."

The cooperative dynamic with Air Mauritius remains pivotal to Emirates’ strategic aims. Kazim further highlighted the renewed codeshare agreement and the shared objectives aimed at bolstering Mauritius’s presence on a global scale, thus fulfilling growing tourist demand. "Together, we continue to elevate Mauritius as a leading destination," Kazim remarked.

Since launching operations to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has transported over 8.8 million passengers and more than 126,000 tonnes of cargo, underscoring its commitment to fostering economic and tourism growth. The airline’s contributions have tangibly benefitted Mauritius, infusing $119 million directly from flights, $264 million via tourism receipts, and an additional $530 million through tourism-related activities.

Emirates maintains a solid presence in the island's job market, supporting 3,600 local jobs across various sectors including aviation, engineering, and customer service. Additionally, numerous Mauritian nationals are employed as pilots, cabin crew, and various corporate roles within the airline.

This ongoing cooperation with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, initiated in 2012, further cements the airline’s dedication to elevating Mauritius on the world stage. Currently, Emirates is the sole airline operating A380 services to Mauritius, offering First Class cabins, and delivering a weekly capacity exceeding 15,000 seats through its 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Mauritius.
