The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has officially announced the launch of early student registration for government schools for the 2026–2027 academic year starting April 12, as part of a structured plan to streamline enrollment procedures and ensure full readiness for the upcoming academic cycle.

Officials confirmed during a press conference that the registration window will remain open until August 13, following a carefully designed timeline that considers different student categories, nationalities, and educational stages to guarantee a smooth and efficient registration process.

The ministry highlighted that the first phase of the plan has already been successfully completed, including the automatic promotion of students across grade levels from kindergarten through grade ten, while the next phase will introduce full electronic registration as part of its digital transformation strategy.

Regarding registration priorities, the first phase will be allocated to siblings of Qatari nationals, children of Qatari mothers, and GCC citizens from April 12 to August 13, while resident siblings will be eligible from May 17 until the same deadline, ensuring fair access and organized seat allocation.

The ministry also outlined registration dates for non-sibling applicants, starting April 26 for Qatari nationals and GCC citizens, and May 24 for residents, with a general electronic registration phase for all nationalities running from August 25 to October 1, alongside a plan to open seven new schools to expand capacity and enhance the overall quality of education.
