Dubai's RTA opens a new exit near Bu Kadra Interchange this August as part of efforts to reduce peak-hour congestion and streamline traffic flows.
In a bid to alleviate congestion, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the opening of a new exit from the collector road set for early August. This development will benefit vehicles traveling from Financial Centre Street towards Ras Al Khor Road, particularly near the Bu Kadra Interchange.
This initiative is part of RTA’s Rapid Traffic Solutions Plan, designed to enhance the efficiency of Dubai's road network and improve traffic flow in the bustling Ras Al Khor area. The district is known for its proximity to several commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
New Ras Al Khor Exit Slashes Travel Time
The RTA expressed its dedication to continuously upgrading roads and infrastructure in accordance with Dubai’s urban expansion goals. The new exit at Bu Kadra Interchange promises significant improvements by reducing travel time for those using the collector road from Financial Centre Street to Ras Al Khor Road. Additionally, it provides relief for vehicles headed toward Dubai–Al Ain Road.
Remarkably, peak-hour travel time has been slashed by 54 percent-from 13 minutes down to just 6 minutes-thanks to this strategic enhancement.
This development is one of several recent upgrades aimed at boosting traffic conditions in the Ras Al Khor vicinity. For instance, Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road leading onto Al Khail Road towards Al Meydan Street was recently widened from a single lane to two lanes over a 500-meter stretch. This alteration doubled its capacity to accommodate 3,000 vehicles per hour, effectively diminishing queue lengths and cutting peak-period travel time from seven minutes to four minutes.
