Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has commenced theimplementation of a new package of rapid traffic solutions across eight strategic locations throughout the emirate, as part of a comprehensive 2026 plan that includes more than 45 traffic improvements.
This step forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of Dubai’s road network, improve traffic flow, and elevate safety standards for all road users, in alignment with the emirate’s accelerating urban and population growth and the corresponding rise in traffic density across key corridors.
The works target vital locations identified through detailed traffic studies, including Emirates Road from Sharjah towards Wadi Al Amardi Street, Umm Amarah Street towards Sheikh Zayed Road leading to Al Wasl Street, and Jebel Ali Lehbab Road. The improvements also cover the area between Sama Al Hadaf and Al Hadaf Waterfront near Al Hadaf Metro Station, Al Ghabiat Street in Al Barsha First, Al Maktoum School in Al Satwa, the intersection of Al Ittihad Street with Al Quds Street, and Sheikh Rashid Road near Grand Hyatt Hotel heading towards Bur Dubai.
These traffic improvements reflect an integrated vision aimed at addressing the bottlenecks and enhancing the capacity of the roads in those locations, ensuring better flow of daily traffic, reducing flight time, and raising the level of traffic safety for drivers and pedestrians alike. These steps also contribute to supporting the emirate's infrastructure through practical, fast-implementing solutions that keep pace with the growing needs of residents and visitors, and support the sustainability of Dubai's transport network.
Through this initiative, the Roads and Transport Authority reaffirms its commitment to continuously advancing Dubai’s traffic system based on structured plans driven by performance indicators and field data analysis, ensuring that the road network remains prepared to accommodate ongoing urban expansion while maintaining seamless mobility across the city under the ambitious 2026 plan.
