continues to reflect the country's population distribution، Domestic tourism across CanadaOntario led with 42.3 percent of all domestic visitors, followed by Quebec at 19.5 percent.
Alberta and British Columbia each drew about 12 percent of domestic travelers, while the remaining provinces divided what was left. An interesting detail emerged in British Columbia: despite welcoming only 12.6 percent of Canadian travelers, it captured a significant 20.9 percent share of total spending from domestic tourists.
The story shifts when it comes to cross-border movement with the United States. In September, travel by U.S. residents into Canada dropped by 2.6 percent compared to the same month last year, marking the eighth consecutive monthly decline in such visits.
Contrasting this trend, overseas travel to Canada has been climbing steadily. September saw 734,200 arrivals from overseas-a notable jump of 7.4 percent from September 2023.
European and Asian tourists drove much of this growth: arrivals from Europe increased by 5.8 percent, while those coming from Asia soared by 14.6 percent. Among individual countries, visitors from the United Kingdom (110,800), France (73,200), and Germany (59,800) were most numerous; together these three accounted for one-third of all international arrivals in September.
