In preparation for their upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, the West Indies Cricket Board has announced a reshuffled squad featuring notable inclusions and exclusions. Rising fast bowler Shamar Joseph headlines the fresh faces, alongside Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles, all of whom have been drafted into the team following their recent loss to Australia.

These changes come at the expense of Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer. According to an official statement published by Cricket West Indies (CWI), Alzarri Joseph has been rested for this leg of the tour to manage his workload, having participated extensively in the UK series and the recently concluded home games against Australia.

The statement also confirmed that both Lewis and King have been ruled out of the T20 series due to injuries. However, there’s optimism surrounding Brandon King’s return for the 50-over format, with the ODI leg of the tour scheduled to begin on August 8.

This new lineup reflects a strategic recalibration as the West Indies aim to bounce back stronger against Pakistan, with selectors banking on young talent and fresh energy to turn the tide.
