Abu Dhabi Police issued an urgent alert warning drivers about the serious dangers of reckless driving, stressing that behaviors such as drifting, speeding, and entering valleys during unstable weather conditions pose a direct threat to lives, especially as light to moderate rainfall continues across the emirate since early morning, increasing the likelihood of accidents and road skidding.

Authorities called on motorists to strictly adhere to traffic laws and remain fully focused while driving, avoiding any distractions, particularly during rainfall, emphasizing that current weather conditions require heightened caution and full compliance with road safety measures.

Police confirmed a zero tolerance approach toward violations, noting that in previous years several drivers were arrested for performing dangerous stunts and drifting during rainy conditions, after their actions were monitored and documented through widely circulated social media videos, leading to legal consequences.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate explained that driving in rainy weather requires essential precautions, including keeping vehicle windows clean to maintain clear visibility and ensuring headlights are fully functional to improve vision under low visibility conditions.

Abu Dhabi Police also stressed the importance of avoiding valleys and water accumulation areas, staying away from electrical infrastructure and open spaces near trees, adhering to speed limits, maintaining safe distances, avoiding sudden braking, slowing down at turns, and pulling over safely if visibility becomes poor to ensure the safety of all road users.
