The UAE is setting an example by incorporating AI into its education system. With initiatives led by Minister Sarah Al Amiri, schools prepare for almost a million students in 2025-2026 through extensive teacher training in AI and modernization efforts. New facilities and digital tools highlight this forward-thinking strategy.
The UAE’s commitment to educational innovation was recently highlighted by the Minister of Education, Sarah Al Amiri, as she announced the readiness of schools across the nation to welcome nearly one million students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Al Amiri emphasized that teachers are undergoing extensive training in artificial intelligence (AI), integrating it as a teaching tool, and establishing robust training mechanisms for educators.
Comprehensive AI Training Mechanisms
Al Amiri elaborated on how instructors are being equipped to effectively incorporate AI into their daily educational practices. She noted that these innovative training methods are beneficial lessons not only within the UAE but also globally, given their comprehensive nature aimed at updating both teacher skills and student preparedness.
A Modern and Safe Educational Environment
"Teachers are being trained in computing subjects, with specialized educators in place," said Al Amiri. In preparation for the new academic year, nine new schools have been inaugurated across various educational zones, along with extensive renovations of 465 schools to ensure they provide a modern and safe learning environment.
The upcoming school year will see an influx of 25,345 new students across various grades, reflecting efforts to accommodate increasing enrollment numbers.
Promoting Digital Learning
The minister confirmed the recruitment of 830 new educational staff across diverse fields and announced that ten million copies of school textbooks have been printed and distributed before the academic year's start. This initiative ensures that educational materials are available from day one. Additionally, 46,888 laptops have been distributed among students to support digital learning and enhance their technological competencies.
The ministry outlined its plans during a press briefing at Zayed Educational Complex in Dubai on Tuesday while announcing preparations for the upcoming academic year 2025-2026. There will be ongoing assessments for students from grades one through four focusing on individual progress tracking, ensuring precise monitoring of their academic growth. This approach enables teachers to provide more effective feedback and employ flexible teaching methods that enhance critical thinking and analytical skills.
The ministry stated that these policy updates align with its integrated efforts to advance education and ensure that Emirati schools remain stimulating environments capable of meeting future generational needs while preparing them for impending challenges.
