Dubai Police, operating under the authority of the UAE Ministry of Interior, have achieved a major international security breakthrough by dismantling one of the most dangerous transnational criminal organizations, known as the “Frasciarsi” gang, also referred to as “Witchcrafters.” The operation resulted in the arrest of its leader, Marko Dordevic, as part of a joint international mission codenamed “HARS.”

The operation was carried out in coordination with Europol, the Serbian Ministry of Interior, and the Spanish National Police, along with full legal cooperation from the Dubai Public Prosecution. The arrest followed the issuance of an international Red Notice by Interpol, confirming Dordevic’s wanted status for serious crimes linked to organized criminal activity.

The Frasciarsi gang is affiliated with the notorious “Kavac” group, which has been involved in violent conflicts with the “Skaljari” faction across the Balkan region since 2014. These bloody confrontations led to numerous murders, arson attacks, and bombings, resulting in nearly 60 victims across several countries.

During investigations into a murder committed in Belgrade on October 16, Serbian authorities identified Dordevic as the mastermind behind the crime. As a result, international cooperation mechanisms were activated, leading Dubai Police to take swift and lawful action, successfully arresting the suspect in Dubai.

In Serbia, authorities detained 10 gang members and conducted 22 raids in Belgrade and Šabac, seizing encrypted phones, luxury vehicles, expensive watches, and approximately €300,000 in cash. Meanwhile, Spanish authorities arrested two additional suspects in Valencia and Barcelona as part of the same coordinated efforts.

Europol, along with Serbian and Spanish officials, praised the pivotal role played by Dubai Police, highlighting their advanced technical capabilities, swift response, and professionalism in executing the arrest and supporting the wider investigation. These efforts further cement the UAE’s reputation as a key global partner in combating organized crime and terrorism.

Dubai Police reaffirmed that the success of Operation “HARS” reflects the UAE’s unwavering commitment to international law enforcement collaboration and to maintaining regional and global security.
