The UAE Ministry of Education has introduced a new electronic payment system for expatriate students enrolled in public schools who do not hold an Emirati ID or official documentation. The initiative reflects the ministry’s ongoing efforts to streamline educational services and advance the country’s digital transformation goals.
According to a recent circular issued to public school administrations, the ministry has activated an online tuition fee payment service accessible through its official website www.moe.gov.ae, allowing parents to conveniently pay student fees using the student’s identification number.
The new process includes nine simple electronic steps. Users begin by visiting the ministry’s website under “Important Links,” selecting “Tuition Fee Payment for Public Schools,” and logging in via UAE Pass using their mobile number. They can then choose “Pay for Another Person,” enter the student number, confirm the amount due, and complete payment securely online.
Upon completion, users receive a detailed electronic receipt showing the payment details, with an additional copy sent directly to the mobile number provided during the transaction.
The ministry emphasized that bank deposits are no longer accepted, except for payments made through charitable organizations, urging parents and guardians to use the new online system exclusively. This policy aims to support the UAE’s digital government initiatives and ensure smooth, efficient access to educational services.
Meanwhile, several public schools are conducting surveys to evaluate the new student dismissal procedures, seeking feedback from parents and students on the clarity, safety, and organization of the process.
Schools noted that dismissal currently takes place through three main channels: school buses, private vehicles, or walking - with the latter option requiring a written consent from parents and a special exit card for the student’s safety.
The collected feedback will help enhance and refine school operations, ensuring a secure and well-organized learning environment. The initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with parents and fostering a safe, supportive educational ecosystem for all students in the UAE.
