A combined inspection effort at a women's salon in Dubai revealed a number of labor and residency irregularities. Authorities seized five female employees operating at the facility without formal work licenses, as well as the salon owner, who was also found to be in breach, but in a different manner.
The investigations indicated that all of the employees had entered the country on visitor visas.
Two of them remained after their visas expired without renewing or paying the necessary penalties. The remaining staff had proper visas, but they worked independently and illegally.
The campaign also showed that the salon owner was living in the country on a work visa sponsored by another firm.
She had never worked for her sponsor, but she had run the salon on her own for a year and a half, employing five people despite the fact that they were not under her sponsorship, had no work licenses, and did not follow the sponsorship transfer rules.

During the Public Prosecution's investigations, all of the accused confessed and repeated their allegations when they appeared in court via videoconference.
The court finished by fining all of the workers for working without a permission, condemning two of them to one month in prison or an alternative sentence for unlawful residency, and deporting them from the nation.
It also punished the establishment's owner 50,000 dirhams for hiring workers who were not sponsored by her, with the amount increasing with the number of workers.
