The United Arab Emirates has officially declared a public holiday for the private sector in honor of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
This significant observance is scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) confirmed that this day will be a paid holiday for all private sector employees across the nation.
Alongside the announcement, MoHRE extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the country's leadership as well as its citizens and residents.
Private Sector Joins Public Holiday Observance
This announcement comes shortly after the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) revealed that public sector workers would also enjoy a break on the same day.
With most businesses observing Saturday and Sunday as part of their typical weekend schedule, this development ensures an extended break from Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7.
The date was confirmed following astronomical observations marking the crescent moon sighting of Rabi Al-Awwal, ushering in the third month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.
