The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 18 ballistic missiles, 4 cruise missiles, and 47 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran, amid escalating regional security tensions.

Since the onset of the Iranian attacks, the UAE air defenses have intercepted a total of 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2,085 drones, demonstrating the operational readiness and efficiency of the armed forces in protecting national airspace and critical infrastructure.

The attacks resulted in the deaths of two military personnel while performing their national duties, in addition to the death of a Moroccan civilian contractor, and 9 civilians from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India. Furthermore, 203 individuals from 42 different nationalities sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe.

The Ministry emphasized that all defense and security teams remain on high alert, fully prepared to respond to any potential threats and decisively counter any actions aimed at undermining national security and stability.

Officials highlighted that continuous operational readiness and advanced defense capabilities are key to safeguarding citizens and residents, preserving national sovereignty, and maintaining the stability and resilience of the UAE against any future attacks.
