The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a new wave of threats today, including 20 ballistic missiles and 37 drones launched from Iran, highlighting a significant escalation in regional tensions, while confirming that all incoming targets were detected and neutralized with high operational efficiency to safeguard national security.

In an official statement shared on X, the ministry revealed that since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defenses have dealt with 398 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,872 drones, underscoring the scale and continuity of the threats faced, as authorities continue to enhance defensive capabilities and readiness levels.

The ministry confirmed that these attacks resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty, in addition to the death of a Moroccan civilian contractor working with the military, as well as eight other civilian fatalities from multiple nationalities due to the ongoing strikes.

It also reported that 178 individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, involving a wide range of nationalities including Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepali, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, and Tunisian nationals, reflecting the broad humanitarian impact.

The UAE Ministry of Defense emphasized that it remains on full alert and prepared to respond decisively to any threats, reaffirming its commitment to protecting national sovereignty, maintaining security and stability, and safeguarding the country’s interests and strategic assets amid the ongoing developments.
