The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed several ballistic missiles and drones on Friday, March 6, 2026, as part of the latest wave of attacks targeting the nation.

According to the official statement, advanced detection and monitoring systems identified nine ballistic missiles, all of which were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their intended targets.

The ministry confirmed that the interception operations were carried out as part of the UAE’s integrated air defense network designed to safeguard the country’s airspace and protect critical infrastructure. Authorities emphasized that the response demonstrated the efficiency and readiness of the nation’s defense systems in confronting aerial threats.

In addition to the ballistic missiles, the ministry reported that air defense units detected 112 unmanned aerial vehicles during the same period.

Out of these, 109 drones were successfully intercepted and neutralized, while three drones fell within the territory of the United Arab Emirates.

Officials confirmed that the relevant authorities promptly dealt with the incidents in accordance with safety procedures to ensure the protection of residents and strategic facilities.

The Ministry of Defense also released updated cumulative figures detailing the scale of attacks since the beginning of what it described as Iranian aggression against the country.

According to the statement, a total of 205 ballistic missiles have been detected since the start of the escalation. Of these, 190 missiles were successfully destroyed by the UAE’s air defense systems.

The ministry further explained that 13 missiles fell into the sea, while two ballistic missiles landed inside the country’s territory، Authorities noted that the incidents did not cause major structural damage, thanks to the rapid response of defense systems and emergency services.

Regarding drone activity, the statement indicated that a total of 1,184 Iranian drones have been detected since the beginning of the attacks. UAE forces successfully intercepted 1,110 of these drones, while 74 drones fell within the country’s territory. The ministry also confirmed that air defense systems managed to detect and destroy eight cruise missiles during the same period.

The attacks resulted in three fatalities involving individuals of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities.

In addition, authorities reported 112 minor injuries among people from various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, and Turkish citizens.

Concluding its statement, the UAE Ministry of Defense reaffirmed that the armed forces remain on full alert and ready to respond to any threats targeting the country’s security.

Officials stressed that defense systems continue operating around the clock to monitor hostile activities and respond decisively, ensuring the protection of the nation’s sovereignty, stability, and the safety of all residents.
