The Ministry of Defense announced on Monday March 9 2026 the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces following the crash of a military helicopter that occurred during the performance of their national duty inside the country as the ministry explained that the aircraft went down due to a sudden technical malfunction while it was carrying out an official mission as part of the routine operational duties conducted by the armed forces within the framework of their national responsibilities.

According to the official statement issued by the Ministry of Defense the helicopter was performing a military assignment within the operational structure of the armed forces when a technical failure occurred leading to the crash of the aircraft which resulted in the martyrdom of two armed forces personnel who were on board at the time while carrying out their official national mission in service of the country.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the armed forces continue to carry out their national duties with the highest levels of readiness professionalism and dedication across all operational sectors noting that members of the armed forces remain committed to their responsibilities and continue performing their missions with determination in order to safeguard the nation and support the security and stability of the state.

The ministry further clarified that incidents resulting from technical malfunctions can occasionally occur during military aviation operations stressing that the competent authorities follow established procedures in dealing with such incidents in order to review all circumstances surrounding the accident and ensure that all details are carefully examined according to the applicable military regulations within the armed forces.
