The Sharjah Digital Department, in partnership with Sharjah Municipality, has introduced a thoroughly revamped suite of rental services via the Aqari platform. This development forms a key part of the broader Digital Sharjah initiative, which seeks to accelerate the emirate’s transition into an integrated digital economy.
The updated package establishes a unified digital environment for real estate transactions across Sharjah, moving away from traditional paper-based methods. The new model streamlines processes, aims for greater sustainability, and promises seamless integration throughout municipal operations.
By consolidating all rental-related procedures under a single system, authorities have aimed to enhance transparency and reduce administrative hurdles. Residents, investors, and businesses are expected to benefit from faster service delivery as bureaucracy is trimmed down considerably. The transformation also falls in line with government strategies targeting increased digitalisation and adoption of advanced technologies across pivotal sectors.
The enhanced Aqari platform brings new features including digital management for lease contracts covering all property types. Users will find flexible payment options alongside personalised dashboards offering tailored information. By signing in through UAE Pass, customers can instantly access their contracts and property records.
Sharjah Moves Forward With Real Estate Digitalisation
A significant advance comes from deeper cross-government coordination: residents can now handle moving procedures entirely online thanks to direct links between the platform and entities such as the Sharjah Electricity Water and Gas Authority.
Officials report that automation now covers 95 percent of all processes within the system, minimizing human input at almost every stage. Lease agreements can be completed through a simplified sequence-from initial registration straight to issuance-drastically reducing turnaround times while lowering paperwork and operational expenses.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department and Chairman of the Committee overseeing the Integrated Real Estate Services Platform Project (Aqari), described these changes as evidence of Sharjah’s determination to enhance government efficiency by delivering robust digital solutions to residents and businesses alike.
"At Sharjah Digital Department, we are dedicated to building advanced infrastructure and delivering sustainable, proactive solutions that empower government partners across the emirate to achieve full digital integration," Sheikh Saud said. "This enables the delivery of automated services with tangible impact-both now and into the future."
He emphasized that this launch signals a fresh stage in Sharjah’s evolving digital landscape: "This marks a new phase in our transformation-one that moves beyond simple automation towards deep digital integration-with measurable effects on both our economy and public service ecosystem."
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality, highlighted how essential ongoing digital transformation is as the city continues its rapid growth. He pointed out that collaboration with the Digital Department has made procedures smoother for users while bolstering customer-focused offerings throughout the real estate sector.
