"This step aligns with the growing population in Sharjah and the increasing demand for reliable public transportation," he stated. "Our aim is to provide safe, dependable travel options that ensure passenger comfort while supporting Sharjah's vision for environmentally friendly practices and sustainable transport solutions."
Al-Othmani added, "These advanced buses are characterized by cutting-edge technology and fuel efficiency with reduced emissions, reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable public transport system that protects environmental health while maintaining air quality. These specifications underline our focus on reducing carbon footprints and minimizing vehicle-induced pollution, alongside boosting operational efficiency."
Advancing Public Transportation
The authority is steadfast in executing an integrated plan for further development of its public transport fleet over coming years, aligning with urban expansion and demographic growth within the emirate. The shift towards modern, eco-friendly buses forms a core part of SRTA’s strategy to meet escalating demand for public transit services, advocating it as a primary choice for daily commuting.
Al-Othmani noted that promoting a culture of mass transit is crucial within society; hence providing modern transport means that offer comfort and reliability while aligning with global standards is vital. This not only lessens reliance on private vehicles but also enhances traffic flow within cities, reducing congestion while contributing positively to local economic conditions and life quality.
Enhancing Service Quality
Abdulaziz Al-Jarwan, Director of Transport Affairs at SRTA, described the launch as a qualitative enhancement in Sharjah’s collective transport sector development trajectory. He affirmed SRTA's ongoing efforts to boost fleet efficiency by incorporating state-of-the-art buses known for safety and user-friendliness, thereby ensuring continuous improvement in service quality which bolsters passengers' confidence in public transportation systems.
The authority prioritizes passenger comfort highly-demonstrated by equipping new buses with comfortable seating arrangements and advanced air conditioning systems-to ensure ease of travel integration into community activities. SRTA remains committed to assessing public needs continually while adapting bus routes according to population density trends across key areas within Sharjah.
