The Sharjah City Municipality has reaffirmed that the ten-minute grace period for public parking remains in effect. Hamed Al Qaid, Director of the Public Parking Department, clarified on "Al Khat Al Mubasher" radio program broadcast on Sharjah Radio that there have been no changes to this system.

Al Qaid emphasized that this grace period is granted to all drivers, whether they are parking in a spot for the first time or moving their vehicle to another space within the same zone. He explained that the purpose of this rule is to facilitate payment and allow customers sufficient time without risk of an immediate penalty.

Additionally, Al Qaid highlighted the role of digital monitoring vehicles equipped with advanced technology. These vehicles capture an initial photo when passing by a parked car, then return after ten minutes to take a second image and verify whether payment has been made. If a vehicle moves from one parking space to another within a few minutes, it is treated as a new use and drivers automatically receive another grace period; this protocol also applies to field inspectors monitoring parking compliance.

Al Qaid further noted that all benefits related to using public parking remain unchanged. The municipality aims through this policy to enhance customer satisfaction and improve parking operations throughout various areas of the emirate.
