Five medical professionals in Riyadh and the Eastern Province have been subject to punitive measures reportedly implemented by the Ministry of Health (MoH) for professional ethical transgression. These people were discovered utilizing social media channels in ways that violated the moral guidelines of their field of work.

One especially alarming event among the infractions involved a medical practitioner displaying sections of a patient's body for a medical demonstration, therefore revealing areas that should have stayed covered. This behavior was captured and then posted on social media. Additional violations included the fabrication and distribution of materials including improper language and acts judged incompatible with the ethics of the medical field.

The ministry verified that the engaged practitioners had been called upon and that legal proceedings had started under cooperation with the pertinent authorities. To finish the legal procedures against them, these people have been referred to the relevant court bodies.

Aiming at safeguarding patient rights and preserving the quality of healthcare services, the Ministry of Health underlined its dedication to guaranteeing compliance with professional standards and regulatory laws, It also underlined the need of following the Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions and related rules, which provide a structure for moral behavior in the healthcare field.

Apart from official rules, the MoH underlined the clauses of the Anti-Cybercrime Law about the usage of digital channels. Under this law, those who publish material infringing public morals or values risk fines of up to SR3 million and up to five years in jail, This is a great deterrent against the improper use of social media by medical practitioners.

The activities of the ministry highlight its commitment to preserving public confidence in healthcare providers and medical profession integrity, as It underlined the need of healthcare professionals using digital platforms with professionalism and caution to make sure their activities do not undermine patient dignity, confidentiality, or professional standards.

This case reminds us of the more general obligations of a medical profession. Along with delivering medical treatment, healthcare providers are supposed to be role models in their contacts-both offline and online. The Ministry of Health wants to establish a clear precedent by implementing these policies whereby infractions of professional ethics and social media abuse will not be accepted.

The government also urged medical establishments to teach their staff members moral behavior and the legal consequences of wrong activities, Developing a culture of responsibility and respect inside the medical community depends on raising knowledge of these problems, By means of such initiatives, the ministry aims to foster adherence to professional ethics, safeguard patient privacy, and guarantee that healthcare treatments are rendered with the best of integrity.
