Saudi Arabia’s Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has successfully thwarted three separate drug smuggling attempts at key border crossings, resulting in the confiscation of more than 220,000 illicit pills.

Concealed within cars and a passenger's luggage, the smuggled drugs highlighted the ever more advanced techniques employed by criminals, These happened at Duba Port, the Al-Hadithsa border crossing, and the King Fahd Causeway.

Customs officials found 166,345 illicit pills overall in the first and biggest intercept at the King Fahd Causeway, including 45,975 additional forbidden drugs and 120,430 Captagon tablets.
