Riyadh police Detained Seven-member Syrian national gang engaged in a string of armed robberies totaling SR1.3 million.
All residing illegally in Saudi Arabia, the suspects recruited investors by tricking them with promises of great rewards from real estate and digital money. Under the cover of business contacts, their false activities entailed enticing victims into their hideouts where the gang would hold, attack, and loot them under gunpoint.
According to the Public Security, investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigation and Research Department resulted in the offenders being arrested. Presenting themselves as respectable businessmen, the gang took advantage of victims' confidence before committing crimes. Later, the pilfers of the money were moved to the allies of the gang living outside the Kingdom.
Emphasizing that anyone who illegally gets money by dishonesty, falsehoods, or other fraudulent means would face harsh punishments, Public Security officials issued a strong warning against false practices in view of the arrests. Such violations carry fines reaching SR5 million, jail for up to seven years, or both.

Regarding electronic transactions, citizens and residents are advised to follow safety recommendations; they should also guarantee the validity of investment possibilities and notify the pertinent authorities of any suspected fraud efforts. Before making financial decisions or disclosing personal data, security experts underlined the need of confirming the validity of people and companies.
Saudi Arabia keeps a strong anti-financial fraud posture and ranks among the lowest country in the world in such crimes despite a global increasing trend. Authorities are still dedicated to raise public knowledge of the changing strategies used by fraudsters. This covers stressing the requirement of quick reporting of fraudulent behavior regardless of the amount of the financial loss involved.
The capture of this group emphasizes the dedication of the Saudi authorities to uphold security and expose dishonest practices. It also reminds us of the dangers involved in illegal residence since those who live illegally sometimes turn to criminal behavior to survive.
Public security officials urged every citizen to be wary and alert, particularly when presented investment prospects that seem too good to be true. They also urged the people to keep educated on the most recent techniques for fraud prevention and to collaborate closely with law enforcement to protect their financial interests.
