a significant cultural initiative, Saudi Arabia is set to establish a permanent museum dedicated to the illustrious history of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques.
In This project was a focal point during a meeting of the High Supervisory Committee for the "History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques" project, chaired by Prince Faisal bin Salman.
Prince Faisal, who serves as a special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, also leads the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah).
The museum seeks to serve as an extensive repository of knowledge, chronicling the evolution of Hajj and Umrah rituals over time along with key developments in their administration.
The initiative benefits from the patronage of King Salman, alongside steadfast support from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Initially conceptualized as an academic endeavor titled “Encyclopedia of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques,” it has grown into a groundbreaking national venture under Darah's management in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah through its Guests of God Service Program.
During their discussions, committee members announced plans for a forum titled "Historical Events in the Prophet’s Biography: Perspectives on Research and Documentation." This event is scheduled to take place in Madinah concurrently with an Umrah Forum.
The committee also evaluated progress on various aspects related to this broad initiative, including updates on forums focused on Hajj history and preparations for corresponding exhibitions.
The esteemed panel includes prominent scholars and officials such as Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid, Imam at the Grand Mosque; Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa from the Muslim World League; Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah; Dr. Fahd Al-Sammari from Darah; Dr. Khalid Al-Bakr from King Saud University; Eng. Anas Sairafi; Eng. Mohammed Ismail, CEO of Guests of God Service Program; alongside Dr. Fahd Al-Wahbi who supervises this historic project.
