Over the duration of the week between December 12 and December 18, 20,159 illegal immigrants were taken under custody all around Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ministry of Interior, these arrests came from combined field security operations carried out by security personnel under cooperation with pertinent government departments. The raids sought to stifle infractions pertaining to labor regulations, border security, and residency.
Of the people arrested, 3,205 had broken the Labor Law, 5,656 the Border Security Law, and 11,302 the Residency Law. Many of the arrests consisted in people trying to illegally cross into Saudi Arabia. 1,861 individuals in all were caught attempting illegal Kingdom entry. Of these, two percent came from other nations, thirty-three percent were Yemeni citizens, and sixty-five percent were Ethiopian citizens. Apart from that, 112 people were taken under custody for unlawful Kingdom departure.
The operations also aimed at those who helped these illicit activities to flourish. For their roles in transporting, hiding, or using the offenders, seventeen persons were taken under custody. As part of the disciplinary actions against their transgressions, a total of 29,540 expatriates-26,411 males and 2,619 women-are now under judicial review.
The Ministry of Interior has also specified the actions being done against these offenders. Twenty-337 of them have been referred to their respective diplomatic embassies in search of travel permits. 3,425 violators were advised to conclude their travel plans, while 9,461 people have been removed from the Kingdom. These actions mirror government attempts to control and correct labor abuses and illegal immigration within the nation.
Anyone engaged in helping illegal immigrants into the Kingdom has been warned sternly by the Ministry. This covers people who offer illegal immigrants cover or other kind of help as well as those who move or host them. Such facilitators risk fines as high as SR1 million, incarceration for up to 15 years, and the seizure of any vehicle used for transportation or housing utilized for offender shelters.
Given these continuous operations, the Ministry of Interior has advised the people to be alert and document any law breaking. To report such occurrences, citizens are urged to phone assigned numbers: 999 or 996 for the remaining areas of the Kingdom and 911 for the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province areas. This project emphasizes the need of public collaboration in preserving security and stopping illicit operations inside Saudi Arabia.
These enforcement activities taken overall show Saudi Arabia's continuous dedication to control immigration and guarantee that its laws are followed. Strict legal procedures are in place to discourage unlawful activity; the government is making plain that infractions of residence, border, and labor regulations will not be accepted. Particularly as the government strives to reduce illegal immigration and related offenses, the recent arrests, deportations, and legal actions are a part of a larger endeavor to uphold security and order inside the Kingdom.
