The Ruler of Sharjah directs extending natural gas services across all cities within the emirate as part of a substantial development initiative.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the extension of natural gas services to all cities within the emirate. The cost for this project in Dibba Al-Hisn alone is estimated at AED 22 million.

The announcement was made by Eng. Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of Natural Gas Management at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, during an episode of "Direct Line," broadcast on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority with presenter Mohamed Al Raisi.

The natural gas project in Dibba Al-Hisn is in its final phase and encompasses three main initiatives, prioritizing residential areas followed by industrial and commercial sectors. In the northern and western neighborhoods, 1,500 households have benefited along with ten additional customers, costing AED 10 million. Internal arrangements have reached 200 villas at a cost of AED 1.2 million with a completion rate of 75%.

Work is ongoing on establishing a natural gas station in Dibba Al-Hisn with an investment of AED 10 million; it is currently 90% complete and expected to be fully operational by early fourth quarter this year. The second phase aiming to expand services to Hayy Al-Dub and Al-Muhalab neighborhoods will be concluded next year.

Furthermore, Mohamed Al Raisi highlighted an awareness campaign produced by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority in collaboration with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority on safety measures for preventing natural gas leaks to safeguard homes and lives. During the program, a caller expressed her concerns upon moving into a new residence and called for greater community education on handling emergencies related to natural gas.
