Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully wrapped up a series of traffic enhancements at ten school-zone sites across the emirate, benefiting a total of 27 schools.

The initiative, completed during the summer of 2025, aligns with RTA's ongoing strategy to bolster safety measures and alleviate congestion around educational institutions.

The improvements were strategically implemented during the summer break to avoid disrupting school activities. Key areas upgraded included Al Warqa 1, 3, and 4; Al Safa 1; Al Barsha 1; Al Garhoud; Al Mizhar 1 and 4; Al Qusais; and Al Barsha South.

Improvements Include Road Widening and Parking Additions

The enhancements featured road widening near the schools' complex in Al Warqa, the addition of staff and parent parking spaces in Al Mizhar and Al Barsha, new entrance and exit points in select areas, as well as pedestrian signals and other traffic-calming measures.

Future Traffic Solutions Planned for Further Improvement

Further traffic management solutions are slated for implementation throughout next year in regions such as Al Barsha 1, Umm Al Sheif, Al Barsha South, and Al Warqa. These plans are part of a broader framework crafted alongside Dubai Police to enhance road capacity and reduce travel times.

The authority emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety protocols including using designated pick-up zones, avoiding haphazard parking maneuvers, obeying bus stop signals, and maintaining reduced speeds around school vicinities to ensure safe travel environments for all commuters.
